I like the green, better.

Value wise, I’d recommend the DS23, which I may buy if you don’t lol... The gearbox is awful but it’s what people want. If you have any problem with the car though, good fucking luck...

My number 1 rule when buying cars: not taking a loan to buy a car, because, I would do stupid things, sexy stupid things...
And yes, I like my Ferraris yellow.
Nice DS’s though, the price for the green seems fair I guess, god these thing became expensive!

I like the green one better as well. The black one has Dutch plates by the way. I ran them:
DS 23 Pallas.
Date of first registration: June 30th, 1973.
Imported into the Netherlands in 1986.
Owned by the current owner since January 2010.
Yearly inspection expires March 27th, 2016.
Converted to also run on GPL/LPG (as indicated in the ad).

The green is also a Pallas, so I think it may have the gearbox of heck.

A running DS for €5,750? Where’s the catch?
It’s probably a rusty money pit underneath.

No, it’s a DIY one.

Likely. There are other cars for less that are in far, far worse shape. They are also “ID Special” and don’t have all the magic features (automagic brakes, etc.)

Potentially a better use of 5750...

Yes, everyone wants a DS23ie but they go for big money in good condition. I’ve seen them advertised for €40,000.
Want a convertible? Budget for €250,000.

*nod* I figure a DS20 Pallas is a “sweet spot” for a collector on a budget. You get the fun features but no lousy transmission and a bit more affordability.

Might well be.

No all Pallas were with the hydromatic gearbox. The green is a manual, the other one an hydromatic.

DS prices are a bit all over the place... A good looking DS23ie with an hydromatic gearbox with a DX5 engine (the 140hp ones) will SELL for 25000 euros or so... A perfect one for 35000 euros. Manual ones will go for 15 to 25000 euros depending on condition.
DS21ie with hydro will go for 15 to 25000 euros depending on condition, 15000 euros being “good” with old leathers and not perfect interior. Manual ones will go from 8 to 15000 euros.
I bought my DS21ie with an hydro gearbox for 9500 euros. It has some rust repair to be done and needs a new interior. Mechanically it’s very good.
Which is why this specific DS23ie with an Hydro gearbox might actually be worth the round trip all the way from Japan for me :)

“te koop Citroen DS23 halfautomaat...”
Yes, halfautomaat seems a logical way of describing a semi automatic!
